Targeted Stroke Rehabilitation in Las Vegas

At our Las Vegas clinic, we utilize the principles of neuroplasticity to help your brain map new motor pathways around affected areas. We implement high-dosage, task-specific training to convert passive potential into active physical command. By focusing on every movement, we help you transition from clinical dependency to functional autonomy in your daily life.

A Kinematic Approach to Neuromuscular Restoration

The primary challenge in post-stroke recovery is overcoming learned non-use, where the nervous system begins to ignore the affected side of the body. We counter this by providing a high-intensity clinical environment focused on Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) and repetitive motor learning. Our therapists’ goal is to move past compensatory habits and focus on restoring the actual mechanics of your gait and the dexterity of your fine motor skills.

Your sessions are guided by objective neurological data. The team analyzes your muscle spasticity, joint alignment, and postural sway to refine your treatment plan in real time. Mastering proprioceptive loading and weight-shifting transitions, you provide your brain with the sensory feedback it needs to recognize and control your limbs again. This science-first methodology is designed to provide the stability you need to navigate both your home and the community with confidence.

Meet Our Expert Doctors

Dr. Joseph Klarberg

CEO

Dr. Joseph Klarberg, PT, DPT is the Founder, Owner, and CEO of Outbound Therapy Services. With nearly five years of experience as a licensed physical therapist, Dr. Klarberg has worked across a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, school-based therapy, and home health. Through this diverse background, he developed a strong understanding of how physical therapy can be most effective when it is personalized, practical, and centered around the patient’s real-life needs. He is passionate about helping adults and seniors regain strength, mobility, and confidence without the stress or limitations of traditional clinic-based care. Dr. Klarberg founded Outbound Therapy Services after recognizing a significant gap in care within the Las Vegas community. Many patients found outpatient therapy difficult or unrealistic due to transportation, scheduling, or physical limitations, while traditional home health services are restricted by strict qualification criteria and limited insurance-approved visits. Outbound Therapy Services was created to bridge that gap by providing high-quality, one-on-one physical therapy directly in the home. This model allows for longer, more focused visits, personalized treatment plans, and care that is tailored to each patient’s environment—helping clients move better, stay independent, and receive the level of attention they truly deserve.

Andrea Barrett

Lead PT

My name is Andrea Barrett, a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. For the past 16 years, I have had the privilege of treating patients throughout the Las Vegas and Henderson communities. The majority of my career has been dedicated to providing physical therapy in the home setting, where I deliver individualized, one-on-one care tailored to each patient’s needs. My clinical approach focuses on improving functional mobility, promoting independence, and supporting patients in achieving meaningful, real-world goals.

Ken Gonzalez

PTA

My name is Ken Gonzalez, and I’ve spent nearly 10 years in the physical therapy field — starting as a tech and growing through roles in administration, marketing, outpatient ortho, and now home health as a physical therapist assistant. I chose home health because I love providing care that fits naturally into real life and helps people stay safe and independent where they’re most comfortable.

Outside of work, I’m a big believer in staying active. You’ll often find me playing pickleball, working out, or spending meaningful time with my family. These moments keep me balanced and remind me why I’m passionate about physical therapy — helping people move, play, and live life fully.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is it too late to start if my stroke was over a year ago?

The brain never loses its ability to change. While early intervention is ideal, “chronic” stroke survivors can still see significant gains in strength and coordination by using intensive, task-specific training to wake up dormant pathways.

Neuro-fatigue is real, our therapists manage your session intensity by tracking your heart rate and cognitive focus. They push you hard enough to cause change without causing a total burnout that sets you back.

Yes, please bring any assistive devices you currently use. Part of our job is to evaluate whether that equipment is still the right fit for you, or whether we can begin transitioning to a less restrictive device as you get stronger.

Our clinic strictly focuses on the physical and motor aspects of recovery i.e., walking, balance, and arm usage. However, we can coordinate your schedule with local speech therapists to ensure your total recovery plan is synchronized.

We use “prolonged stretching” and weight-bearing techniques to inhibit the overactive reflexes that cause stiffness. By calming the muscle down physically, we create a window of time where we can work on strengthening the opposite muscles.
